LIVE SOUND

My passion for music goes beyond playing on stage or in the studio. I love supporting other artists as they create music that moves the soul. My interest in all things music led me to intern with Sound Solutions, where I learned the importance of the sound system and sound engineer to the overall experience of a live performance.  Everything an artist brings must be channeled through this equipment via the engineer to reach the audience. When done well, the process is transparent, and the performer and audience can engage freely. When done poorly, the artist's performance can be tarnished.

What a great responsibility!

DAW

After taking the Sound Engineering and Audio Production Course at Syracuse University, I learned the skills to work in my home studio. Whether recording my own original pieces, experimenting with various samples and clips, or playing covers from various genres, I can often be found working in the studio.

Leaving Yourself
00:00 / 02:54

I created this song while I was jamming on my guitar in my living room. In this audio file I used Logic Pro for my digital audio workstation to record an original composition. Because the song has no vocals, I used a lead guitar as the focus of the song. The digital drums and the F.M. piano tracks were created from my MIDI keyboard. For all the guitar tracks, I used the equalization tool to cut out certain frequencies and buzzing sounds, creating the smooth tone I was aiming for. For the rest of the mixing, I used the automation tool to raise or lower the volume of different tracks. When the song was finished it made me think of how I’ve changed as a person, so I called it “Leaving Yourself.”
